U.S. Group Sues Nokia, Samsung Over Bluetooth
"The Washington Research Foundation, which markets technology from the University of Washington, is seeking damages from the three mobile-phone makers for using a radio frequency receiver technology without paying royalties, according to court papers obtained by Reuters on Wednesday. A University of Washington scientist Edwin Suominen was awarded a patent in 1999 for "simplified high frequency broadband tuner and tuning method"."If you can't make money selling it, sue over it. I'm at the point where when I see this stuff I don't even care if the claims are legitimate. I just assume it is nonsense now. I think it will keep getting worse too.

So why is this guy going after the device manufacturer? Why not go after BSIG or Erricson? I'll never understand these patent issues.
