Hmmm. Was hoping it'd have an option to repeat the notification after a certain amount of time, but doesn't look like it has it.

I want to use my Smartphone for automated work alerts (i.e. have them send a SMS to my phone if something's out of range), but I'm afraid that if I don't "hear" the SMS come in the first time, there's no further notification unless I happen to look at the home screen.

That's an excellent idea. I often go hours without looking at the phones screen, and have missed the original notification. So much so, that I now have a much longer and louder sound play when I get a new SMS or email.

Hi,

SMSNotify will work with Windows Mobile 2003 or Windows Mobile 2003 SE. The only difference here is SMSNotify 2004 V2 supports running at QVGA resolution when active on WM2003SE.

As for the notifications, I am planning on releasing (in about a weeks time) a free addon which will allow a continous looping of a contacts tone, in addition to the phone vibrating until explictly stopped by the end user.

As SMSNotify allows users to create their own plugins now, It will be a wuick and simply free download which will plug into the existing installiation of SMSNotify.

NOTE: Application extensions only work in the full version and not the trial release.

Any questions or addons you would like to see I am only to happy to hear.

Jason

Would it be possible to have the user select what type of looping? They could either choose continous, or have it loop at a user defined interval, like "every X minutes"?

It'd be the death of my Smartphone if "continous" was the only option. I sometimes leave it at my desk while I'm in the data center (no signal there). I can see a SMS coming in and the tone playing continously for all of 2 minutes before the guys that sit next to me flush my phone down the toilet. heh heh

Anyhow, if you can finagle something like that, you'd make a customer out of me.

SMSNotify 2004 Contact Reminder has entered Beta.

Information on it can be found from http://smsnotify.developer.net.nz
Currently in Beta 1, it only supports the full release of SMSNotify 2004 and Version 2.1

Contact reminder allows contacts to be assigned a reminder event. On incomming SMS messages, if a contact has an event, their default events assigned by SMSNotify will be played. (Timer notifications can be set as 1,2,5,10,20,30,45 minutes or an hour)

If the SMS message is not acknowledged, then when the timer interval is up, the contacts assigned tone will be played and optionally a vibrate alert.

Reminder events can be assigned per contact, however theinterval and optional vibrate alert settings are global to all users that have a reminder event associated with them.
