Default Samsung i600 Smartphone Dirty Cheap at eXpansys!

http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan/arch...100-pounds.aspx

"Windows Mobile phones built by Samsung have always impressed me, so I love the fact that the Samsung i600 is now available for £99.95 from expansys.com. It's unlocked so you can use it on any network. The phone runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and only has a 1.3 megapixel camera, but you do get 3G, WiFi and video calling. The i600 is a classic Smartphone, so there's no touch screen. It does have a thumb-wheel and QWERTY keyboard though, plus you can pay with PayPal if you've got some eBay profits knocking around."

Talk about a great deal! Those of you across the pond can pick up a brand new Samsung i600 Windows Mobile Smartphone for only £99.95. Not only do you get a slick little Standard handset for that price but this Samsung Blackjack cousin also includes the much talked about Carousel homescreen. Not to leave our North American readers high and dry you can pick up this same handset from eXpansys USA for a mere $177.95. This should go without saying but if you were going to pick up one of these handsets I would suggest doing it quickly. At the time of this posting there are currently only 17 left in the North American eXpansys branch!

Samsung i600 @ eXpansys UK (£99.95)

Samsung i600 @ eXpansys USA ($177.95)

Interesting, but they have the BJII unlocked for <$50 more - wouldn't you agree that's the better deal?

Default bargain

Can't say for the States but over here in the UK the device on offer is an unlocked Orange-branded (and Orange-configured) one that is running WM5 - so no native carousel there.

The good news is it can be upped to WM6 which removes all Orange apparel, other than the small physical logo on the actual device. And with the WM6 installation you get the carousel.

So far I haven't been able to get my 8gb SDHC card to work in it, only a 2gb one. Other than that....yes, a stunning bargain.

If you're wanting to up it to WM6, you'll need to downgrade Active Sync to 4.2 or the pc won't recognise the i600. You then need to reflash to the Samsung version of WM5, then upgrade to AS 4.5 and install WM6. Full details available online in various places.

I say that is a fantastic deal!

Hopefully I can get to my laptop quick enough to right a post on this before they can sell out.

The BlackJackII for that price is a BSTOCK phone. Please look at the description. It has a charging issue.
