Default Samsung Division CEO Bans Use of Samsung's SGH-B570 8GB Phone

http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/25/samsung-ceo-bans-company-use-of-8gb-sgh-b570/

"We've heard stories about companies banning the use of certain kinds of products, such as cameraphones or digital audio players, since they could potentially be used to snap pics of or download classified info. But in what must be a first-of-its-kind case, Samsung has actually banned employees from using one of the company's own products out of industrial espionage fears. Ki-Tae Lee, CEO of Samsung Electronics Telecommunications Network, has apparently warned employees not to pick up the company's SGH-B570 cellphones, because the music-playing phone's 8GB capacity "is more than enough to steal all confidential data about our company."

 What I don't understand is why the SGH-B570? When they have other phones that can also hold 8GB of data, like the i310. Or what about a 4GB Smartphone like the i300. It may take you twice as long to steal the same amount of data, but it's just as "dangerous". Jeez, I hope nobody tells them about thumb-drives.

And, just about, all phones have the ability for memory cards

so, this device must have a feature that allows it to be accessed directly (without AS gateway) or something that makes it easier to use as a big oversized thumb drive.

Or maybe it was developed for Jack Bauer and the "24" CTU team complete with high level decryption tools and such
