PDAToday.com Reviews Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro
"After reviewing a large number of earphones, my ears were looking forward to a rest until I heard about a small company that specialized in making earphones for professional musicians and engineers. The comments I heard were so good, that I had to check them out. The high-end, custom Ultimate Ear products are used by an impressive list of the top musicians and engineers in the music industry. " For $249.99 those headphones not only should be spectacular, they should also wash my dishes. In all seriousness though, these do appear to be impressive. There accessory kit alone, which comes with the headphones, goes to show you how serious the company takes sound. Even if you don't buy a pair this is still a good review to read

I would love to get a good set of earphones (or headphones) but $249.99 is a lot.
Tell you what, I will come over and do your dishes if you get me a set of these earphones

I would love to know how many pairs they can sell at that price. Really, $250 is a lot of money for earphones.

My wife was sick and tired of trying $20, 30, 40, 50, $60 headphones/earpieces and finding none of them that did good noise block or noise cancellation for her work commute (Ipod Vid)
She ended up buying $179 Bang and Olufsen headphones and never looked back. She is ecstatic. If you are a real connoisseur then you should buy quality.
But try out different sets, you really can hear a phenomenal difference. Her headsets on a plane provide perfectly clear sound, even when behind the engines. Repetitive noises like trains, planes, old ladies droning on about their grandchildren are all muted. What's weird is they are not sold as noise cancelling, but they sure seem to be doing something because they do a great job in noisy environments. (they aren't earbuds either, so its not that)
That's my .02

Absolutely. If you are a connoisseur, you're going to want top quality. But does top quality really mean $200+ Especially when it comes to portable players. There are a lot more elements that you can't control with portable players that makes me wonder if you're really getting what you pay for. I've no doubt that B&O headphones are better, but are they $150 better?
