Default New Windows Mobile Smartphone Spotted at the China High-Tech Fair

http://www.ppcw.net/?itemid=2107

"The second day in the China High-Tech Fair gives me more time to cover the rest of the halls and go back to the Telecom hall for a look at the latest in the mobile phone world. There are some camera phones which now feature optical zoom as well as 3.2 megapixel cameras. 3G phones were on display and the fashion phones were also featured there."

While 3G, and camera phones with optical zoom are interesting, we really want to know about future Windows Mobile devices. No worries, because Carlo delivers!

Read on for more details and a couple snazzy pictures.

"I went off to the next booth which had a clam shell phone that resembled a screen of a Smartphone. So I went to inspect it and true enough I was looking at a Windows Mobile 2003 SE powered Smartphone. It was much slimmer than the MPx 220 although it felt the same in weight. This one was playing a video in full screen and in landscape. This was the GENESEE Smartphone which aims to be another entry in the clam-shell smartphone category."

For larger versions of these pictures, click on through to PPCW.net and click on the thumbnails in the story. I really like the look of this phone, especially when it's closed. Whoever else thinks we'll never see this phone over here in North America, raise your hand.

Carlo also found a Windows Mobile based flip-phone PDA. 8O "The Lenovo ET560 is one huge Flip phone design though. Folded it is definitely as big as my h2210. But the idea of having a flip design which also lets the user twist the screen around to turn it into a full touchscreen PDA may be attractive to some." I don't know about you, but I think the line between phone and PDA has just been blurred a little more.
