"South Korea's second-largest handset maker, said today it had developed a high-end mobile phone, also known as a smartphone, equipped with a 1.1 mega pixel digital camera. The device has a total of 192 MB memory and uses Microsoft's operating system for handheld computers."
The device is expected to be available in Singapore for US$694.40 by the end of the year. The article claims that this device can record up to an hour of moving video. We don't have much information on this device yet, but hopefully that will change soon. What we do know (like the 1.1 mega pixel camera! 8O) is quite impressive.
LG Electronics has a booth at the "ITU Telecom World 2003" conference going next week and one device that they plan to show off is listed as having a 176x220 display with rich multimedia capabilities. Could this be a Windows Mobile-powered Smartphone? We'll find out next week and hopefully get some photos and more detailed specs.
So now the question to be asking is if LG Electronics is the mystery partner everyone has been buzzing about lately or if Sierra Wireless will confirm the rumors and make their own announcement today as well.
