Default Friday Videos: Wing and Vox

http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/friday_videos_wing_and_vox.html

"Two YouTube videos sure to make you jittery with anticipation this Friday afternoon. Previews of the upcoming T-Mobile Wing (though there are rumblings implying the name will change) and the HTC Vox. Still no firm dates on when either of these will make it to the states, though the rumor is we should see the Wing at the end of May for only $249 (I can't believe that!). The Vox on Orange's network sold out already across the pond, so even importing and unlocking isn't an option right now."

These videos were posted last week but since we did not see them until after Friday, I felt it would be best to hold off on posting them until today. After watching the videos several times, all I can say is that I really want a HTC Vox. The screen alone is enough to make your jaw drop! On an interesting side note, has anyone else noticed how much this device looks like the long lost HTC Foreseer?

Hello All,
I just received the S710 Vox yesterday and it's great! The keys are somewhat cramped both on the numeric pad and the slide out qwerty.
I guess I just have to get used to it. WiFi is super! One thing to keep in mind is that the outside keys are located right on the edge and they are polished chrome (plastic), so extreme care must used because it will scratch at those edges.

Overall, it is a great phone.

Where did you order it from?

Plus, we need more details.

- 24 hour review and feedback
- 48 hour review and feedback
- 72 hour review and feedback
- 1 Week review and feedback
- 1 Month review and feedback

this needs to go on till the rest of us can get our hands on one.

Kris,
I ordered mine from http://phonesource-usa.com. I have dealt with them before (thru ebay) and have not had any problems. You can go to their web site directly or you can log into ebay. It took 3-4 days to get to me. They are based in Nevada.

Default VOX in the USA - Now Shipping Unlocked

I had "pre-ordered" my VOX from Elite Electronix Inc. (http://www.elite-electronix.com/prod...roducts_id=887) and the device was shipped on Friday (April 27th). They are selling for $449.95 which was the least expensive I could find on the Internet. This company is out of Florida and has been extremely responsive to all of my inquiries.

The HTC VOX is "finally" available in the United States! YEAH!!!

Default Vox: Love it!

I received mine this past Friday (should have been Thursday, but my wife wasn't home to sign for UPS...damn her eyes!)

I think that this might finally be the end of my Smartphone search. I was a Treo 650 user and loved the one-handedness (is that a word?) it offered.

I love the latest & greatest, so when the Tytn came out I jumped after it. It was VERY hard to transition over to the large brick w/sliding keyboard (I'm a sales guy on the road most days, so need the ability to one-hand type for emails, etc.) Needless to say when the Treo 750v came out for Vodaphone & listed my Tytn on eBay & picked-up the 750...it was wonderful, but still a little big.

Since my Cingular contract was up, I renewed & picked-up a 3525 (aka HTC StarTrek) for weekends (or just times when I didn't want such a large phone.) I loved the slim/small form factor, but missed they keyboard.

Lo & behold the Vox...it's just as small as the 3525 (StarTrek/Qtek 8500/etc.) WHEN CLOSED, but just as powerful as the Treo 750 (IMHO).

I pre-ordered one from Expansys USA (Mobile Planet) for $459.95 back on 4/10 (pretty good price); 2nd day Air was only $20.95, so I'm happy with what I paid. What made me nuts was the waiting and constand delivery date changes on their site...initially said 2 weeks, then 2 days, then 3 days, then a month, back to 10 days... ops:

The radio seems to be just as good (if not a little better) as the Treo's. Even though it's missing 3G (and damn it I'm in a great HSDPA area between Triad NC, Charlotte & Columbia SC area most of the time), the WiFi makes up (as there are plenty of Panera's & small coffee houses w/free hot spots.)

Battery is a little short...I didn't even get a full day today (first day of real full business use.) But considering I was surfing web & checking email via WiFi WITH the Bluetooth radio going (headset) and taking the occasional call, I can't say that I'm surprised. A quick trip to my local Cingular store for a car charger will take care of that for the future (until an aftermarket battery comes out, that is.)

Running FlexMail 2007, Agendus Professional for Smartphone, Resco Battery & Memory & Yahoo Go! 2.0 (gamma...give me a break) without any crashes or losses.

I'll report back in a few days (as I'll be out and about Tues & Wed on the road) to see how more road warrior & meeting use goes.
