Dopod Officially Launches the HTC StarTrek

"Taiwan-based handset vendor Dopod International on May 2 launched the High Tech Computer (HTC) StarTrek smartphone under its brand, the Dopod S300, in the Taiwan market, at a suggested retail price of NT$13,900 (US$437), the cheapest model ever marketed by the company. The company aims to ship about 100,000 unit of the S300, which sports a 1.3-megapixel camera, push e-mail, QR Code and a 2.2-inch 240×320 (QVGA) display, in the Asia-Pacific market in 2006, said company president Jack Tong."

A couple weeks ago, Kris posted a story about the Dopod S300 being available for sale. Well, Dopod has just made it official. We just wanted to let everyone know in case you were holding back on the purchase until it had the official stamp of approval from Dopod on it.

Of course, when it is picked up in the US it will be by T-Mo or someone else besides Cingular *sigh*
