Default Want To Send Attachments? Try AttachSmart.

http://www.smartphone.net/smartphonethoughts/software_detail.asp?id=332

"AttachSmart is the simplest way to email documents as attachments. You can also use it to view/check the documents (it will start the appropriate viewer based on the document type), and do simple file management. "

This looks awesome! Adding attachments to e-mail isn't a particularly glamorous feature, but it goes a long way toward making the Smartphone more useful. This comes from the people who brought us the must-have Pocket TV application, so I have pretty high expectations. AttachSmart will run on either Smartphone 2002 or 2003. The software is currently in beta, so be prepared to provide lots of feedback.

Download AttachSmart from Smartphone.net here.

Default AttachSmart also introduces the self-replicating Smartphone

AttachSmart also introduces the first self-replicating Smartphone application!

Oh no, don't worry, we are not in the virus business, but nonetheless the concept is interesting, Check it out:

AttachSmart can easiely email *itself* from your Smartphone to your Smartphone-enabled friends.

And your friends can install it (directly from the email attachment) and if they like it, they can email it again from their Smartphone to others Smartphone-enabled friends, etc, forever.

We'll see if the idea works...

PS: We had to change the name because SmartAttach is already a trademark of Proxim

Doesnt SmartExplorer do this already? Does it do anything extra or differently?

Yes, other applications can send email attachments. You asked the same question on other forums, and we already answered you.

AttachSmart is designed to do just that, so maybe it is simpler that other tools that are primary designed to do other things. For example, AttachSmart remember the name and location of the last document of each catogory (photo, voice note etc) that you sent, which is nice. SmartExplorer does not do that.

I did not know that SmartExplorer also have a self-replicating feature. Does it ?

By the way, SmartExplorer is not freeware. It's Shareware ($8.99):

AttachSmart will be freeware (on application-unlocked Smartphones).

Take it easy dude...I just asked an honest question. (One that I dont believe I asked on another forum, by the way. If you can attach the link to that question, I'd appreciate it to test my sanity!)

I got this running on my App Locked i600 do the following

Download the AttachsmartSetup.exe and open it with winzip. Extract the Attachsmart_smartphone_arm.cab file then open that with winzip. extract the files to a folder on your machine. you will see the following files and rename them to the following.

ATTACH~1.001 rename to -->> AttachSmart.exe
0000mtvp.003 rename to -->> CESetup.dll
tGetFile.002 rename to -->> tGetfile.dll

Copy these renamed files to \IPSM\Program Files\AttachSmart

Then create a shortcut to Attachsmart.exe and place it in the \IPSM\Windows\startmenu

Power off power on your device... voila.. unsigned app working on the locked phone..

The i600 from Verizon is not application-locked, and AttachSmart installs on it directly, without having to do the unpacking manually.

If it was application-locked, it would not work anyway, because our .exe and dll's are not signed, and application-locked Smartphones (e.g. from Orange) cannot run .exe's and .dll's unless they are signed with a valid Smartphone certificate.

Some i600 from Verizon have another problem preventing some non-signed applications from installing, but that's nothing to do with the fact that they are application-locked. That has to do with a configuration error with the permissions of the Registry in the i600, and Verizon is working on a patch for this problem.

So don't be confused, and don't confuse other people!

This and your response to Enece leave only one conclusion: You're an abrasive guy. Not a good quality for someone in the business of selling a product, huh?

Makes me not want to buy or use anything your company produces.

By the way, MS Mobiles recently had this to say of your programs:

"Contrary to what PocketTV - the author - claims, this program doesn´t allow to view any files, but is just launching external viewers with selected files. Similar situation happens with their "PocketTV" program, that claims to be "MPEG player", but in reality it plays only older and very limited format of MPEG files: the MPEG-1 format - it doesn´t play contemporary MPEG-2 format used now in most video recording software."

If you read msmobiles, i hope that you are able to separate the lies and the biased propaganda from the 10% of real information on this site.

If you take this posting, for example, it's mostly lies and dis-information, and we made a public answer on the newsgroupsmartphone:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=mi...phx.gbl&rnum=3

Now, I do have the magic patch that corrects the i600 registry security setting, but you'll have to wait until Verizons decide to release it.

Regarding my response to Enece, didn't it include the word "sorry" (meaning, I appologize) ? Should I also send flowers ?
