Default turning off ALL sounds (cingular 3125 star trek)

So i set my phone to a custom profile where the system sound is set to OFF and everything else is set to vibrate or off.

then i start playing bubble bobble... and i hear a sound.

then i type in a number a number and hit SEND, and i hear a sound...

same w/ agile messenger...

i know i can individually turn off sounds in each program... but i'd rather have a MUTE everything to be sure... kinda like on pocket pc.

what's the deal?

Just like the Pocket PC, apps don't have to pay attention to the system setting. A well designed app should, but most games don't.

i edited them all actually. but my second profile (i think it was originally silent), which i made to "Vibrate" and have sytem sound to off, is the one i normally use, and has this problem.

i've never really encountered that sort of problem w/ pocket pc... when ever i have the system sound set to mute, nothing gets played...
