I've heard a few people say they wanted AvantGo for Smartphones, but since we're unlikely to ever see that, this program from Sunnysoft might do the trick instead. Some of the features (the poorly-worded English is from their site):
• "to download any Internet and Intranet web site to your Pocket PC
• possibility to download any data quantity
• no need to register and pay for downloaded data
• possibity to download data from servers demanding authentication (user name and password)
• possibility to add, edit or delete any channel
• possibility to clear channel (delete content, not channel parameters)
• possibility to create customized channel with settings"
I'm having a hard time imagining the scenarios where this would be useful though, considering your Smartphone is a wireless device capable of fetching data when you need it. Is it simply a matter of wanting to save costs on GPRS? I'm fortunate enough to have access to flat-rate data, so for me it's a matter of time savings I suppose. Although I do remember wanting to check
Calgary Movies once and not being able to get a stable GPRS connection. I suppose having an off-line version would have helped, but it seems to go against the spirit of what having a connected device means.
What scenarios would you see yourself using this application in?
