Check it out! Spb has just released their first Smartphone application in years. I'm happy to see that they have decided to start looking at the Smartphone platform again. They make some great applications and it will be nice to have them back again. Spb Brain Evolution is a top rated brain teasing game. Check out all the screen captures over here on the Spb website. You can download a trial version or purchase the complete game from our affiliate store. The quote above is taken from their press release which can be found here.

Technically, they released mobile dvd for smartphone before this, but this is wayy better. They had a bunch of invites for beta testing about 2 months ago so they're planning on releasing alot of their current ppc programs onto the smartphone.

I find it kind of ironic that they're using the blackjack as part of the brain evolution advertisement when most of the problems early on with the beta had to do with the blackjack (keyboard not working properly, GAPI screen issues, soft keys adding letters). Anyway, its a great game and everyone should at least try it out.

... And their screen shots are all in portrait mode. You would think these days with so many landscape oriented devices out there, they should at least have some of the shots in landscape

I was in on the beta test, and it's a great game that really warms up your brain.

To be honest though, I'm not sure I'd pay $20 for it -- $10 or $15 would be much easier to swallow. Don't get me wrong, it has tons of puzzles that will keep you busy for a LONG time, but I kind of have a personal threshold amount of $15 that I'm willing to pay for Smartphone games.

For utilities (such as AgendaOne) I'm willing to pay up to about $25. But any more than that would require the program to be highly valuable to me.

Has SPT had a poll on the amount people are willing to pay for games/utilities?

The game works fine in landscape mode. Since all the puzzles are truly in heights of 176 or 200 pixels, it fits fine on both screens, except you have alot of extra blue space on the landscape phones. Only games that take up more space and require all of the screen would be sudoku and maybe that one ball game.

And yeah, SPB needs to reprice their games. For the PPC, theyre selling each individual game from brain evolution for $10-$15 each, while you can buy brain evolution for $20. And yeah, I would rather spend the 10-15 instead of the $20.

Hrm.... Maybe, but not recently. I'll try and get one up next week.
