Default Opera 7.60 Browser Technical Preview 3

http://www.opera.com/winmobile/changelogs/760tp3/?session=

The most awaited browser for the Windows Mobile Smartphone platform has now entered the Technical Preview 3 stage. I have read lots of good feedback from our readers for this browser. And this time I intend to give this browser some serious trial. :-) This updated beta release expires on June 30, 2005 and supports only Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 devices.

What have you been waiting for? I stopped using PIE the day I installed Opera and have never gone back, except when I accidentally hit the "i" button on my i600. (I wonder if there's a way to remap that thing.)

I agree, it's much, much better than IE

Has anyone noticed that this release is slightly slower than the previous version?

There are a couple of secure websites that I still can't log onto though :x

There has to be, I'm just not knowledgeable enough to know how. Papyrus opens when you choose the calendar icon, so there must be a way to map Opera as well.

I think I had tried the TP1, but didn't like it and then missed the TP2 boat. Anyway I am amazed by the speed. And multiple windows. :-)

BUT...today when I tried to rely on Opera, pIE bailed me out. Wanted to get the address for a college (www.naz.edu) from its website. And since the site had Javascript animations, Opera goofed up on the rendering and I could not click on the link I wanted or any for that matter. :-( Whereas pIE showed me the page, with clickable links. :?

Changing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command

from iexplore.exe %1
to opera.exe %1

Doesn't seem to work (even with reboot). The mail app still uses PIE to open links.

I'm having zero success getting this to work with T-Mobile and their lame-o proxy server. PIE works fine and so do my own custom net apps.

If someone is feeling really nice they could compare the speed of Opera WITHOUT the accelerator option to PIE. The accelerator requires a paid subscription at some point.
