Default Google apps for mobile phones

Pete's posting about Google Calendar for mobile phones got me thinking about their other, less publicized apps that work on a smartphone.

Most useful to me, Google has rolled out a new version of Google RSS Reader for mobiles:

And, they now have "local voice search", just by dialing 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411):

Goog411 is pretty cool. If you say "text message", it actually sends the info to you via SMS. When I did it, I had the information in my inbox the instant I hung up the phone.

There is also Google SMS, but this isn't of much use if you have a data plan:
http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/mobile/sms/

There is also Google alerts, which lets you define a search term and get updated with new results. This is very handy for keeping up with news about, say, a new phone coming on the market:

Lastly, they have Froogle for WML:

WML is very limited, though, so it doesn't provide links to the actual product page. Still, it's good for when you are in Best Buy and want to know how bad you're getting ripped off!

Nice, but there's not much in that line up that I would use - or can use, since I'm not in the US. :?

Really? Not even RSS or alerts? Those should work, unless Google blocks by IP or something.

I can't use RSS because I hate to read the same feed twice. I use FeedDemon on the desktop because of it's power and news-bin features. If I used Google's RSS I would end up re-reading all the same posts.

N90, eh? Well this site is focused on Windows Mobile Smartphones - so I don't think you'll find many who can help you with that.
