Default gmail or similar

Hi, just got my HTC Excalibur recently and i'm having a nightmare time of it.

I got one with wifi cos nearly everywhere I go, I get wifi access. I though this would be a good way to pick up email for free

However I come to setup pocket outlook and it does not seem to allow me to change the default port number like POP access for gmail requires.
Can anyone help?
Or suggest a WM5 smartfone email client that does, or even a different solution to my problem?

It just if I use wifi, my ISP wont allow mail relaying from anywhere but home where it recognises my IP address - I believe this is fairly standard.

Ta

Thanks for that.

I also tried setting the port like you can on the web eg http://myaddress.com:234

so used pop.gmail.com:123

and it worked !!

Send a message via Yahoo to ditch_azeroth

another option is to install the java version of gmail for mobiles. just go to http://gmail.com/app and install what needs to be installed. very easy to use... though i still prefer to access my gmail account via pop (so that i can save my emails for offline viewing) or by going to http://m.gmail.com. hope this helps ^_^

Has anyone gotten gmail to work as a regular email account on the SDA without using the new java app? I set it up just as instructed on the Google site using the port numbers, authentication, enabling POP email on my account etc, and I keep getting an error message that I cannot connect.
