Default AgileMobile Releases Updated Messenger Client for Windows Mobile 5

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?ContentId=6322

"Agilemobile.com Ltd. has announced the release of Agile Messenger for Windows Mobile 5.0, a multi-protocol instant messaging client for mobile phones and handheld computers. The software provides a seamless connection to the public instant messaging networks of ICQ, AOL, Yahoo!, MSN, Google Talk and any other XMPP networks. Features include AgileMobile's push to talk technology which enables users to send instant voice messages from mobile to mobile, and mobile to PC, as well as instant multimedia messaging, enabling the transfer of images and video."

AgileMobile has updated their Messenger client to support Windows Mobile 5 devices. If you're looking for an alternative to the MSN Messenger that comes installed on your phone, and you don't mind playing with ALPHA software (Alpha's are pre-Beta's in case anyone was wondering. ), then you should really give Agile a try. The Agile Messenger is a really solid implementation, in my opinion. You can download a copy from AgileMobile's website.

As of today, the alpha posted for the Smartphone version works pretty darn good. The initial files that were posted were pretty sketchy as far as bugs go. So, if you have a Smartphone, go to the link and give the alpha a try.

The only services I use are AIM and MSN. AIM works well on the alpha, MSN did not allow me to enter an @hotmail.com in the username on the phone. However the trial of Smartconnect did let me type in the proper username and now all appears to be working quite well.

Couple of issues I had found was that the text just seemed a little bit small, and also I just could not get Yahoo to connect. Was all fine with MSN but not Yahoo.

I have gone back to the 2003 version, and will wait for another update.

Send a message via AIM to encece Send a message via MSN to encece

I dont mind the text size at all. The program works and looks great. But I could not connect to yahoo either.

Then I remembered that anyone I want to IM is using MSN these days....so I uninstalled and got friendly with Messenger again.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. That's why I stopped using this a long time ago.
