"It’s been nearly a year since I first laid my hands on the Motorola Q smartphone at CES. When I did, I was quick to dismiss it and moved on in the DJ music driven Motorola booth bathed in blue lights. But here I am now writing a review on a phone running Microsoft’s Window Mobile that brings to mind; never judge a book by it’s cover. In other words, don’t be so quick to judge something at a trade show.Motorola put a fine looking unit together in the name of the Q. Running with the same formula that brought it such success for the ultra popular clam-shell phone, the RAZR, engineers at America’s number one cellular phone company made the thinnest and lightest smartphone for 2006. But, was Motorola able to bring the same great phone guts that made the RAZR so good into the Q? With over three months of this little guy strapped onto my belt, I was able to ask that question time and time again. The answer surprised me and it may surprise you."



In case you are interested in the Motorola Q, the silver one, then here is a review for you. Wish the review covered the enhancements brought about by the new firmware update; even better if the review had covered the Black Q. I am sure everyone wants to find out how the new Black Q fares when compared with the current favorites, the Dash and the BlackJack.

As for Sven's review, it pretty much jibes with my experience (although I didn't test push E-mail). It's strange that his image of the Q seems to be different from my Q, though (note the blue keys and what appears to be writing on the left side of the screen bezel); maybe he was using some older image.

Did anyone sumbit it to us? I don't recall seeing it in the news bin - or my feeds. Not sure why it didn't show in my feeds, I have PocketNow listed. We'll get something up in the new year.

The blue keys and text on the side of the screen is from early beta units. It's been so long that I didn't even think of that when I saw this review.

I don't know if anybody submitted it or not; I know that I didn't, although I did post about it. I guess I had hoped that the post would be enough (but that's my bad, not yours).

Sometimes the RSS feed seems to go down, although it seems to have been up since I got NewsBreak for the Q in November.

Thanks for considering it. That review was a lot of work. I loved using the Q, but the writing took forever.

Ah, November 6th - that was a very busy day/week for me. So it's very possible that I missed your post and over looked it in the feeds. (started a new job)
