O2 Asia to Carry the HTC Amadeus as O2 Xphone IIm

"O2 Asia and i-mate are definitely the two resellers which seems to be the best customers of HTC since they carry most of the HTC Windows Mobile models. While carriers are pretty restrictive and focused in their product portfolio, O2 Asia and i-mate are pure resellers (even if both also sell to carriers) and therefore they need a wider product portfolio. The latest announcement came from O2 Asia who will carry the HTC Amadeus - also known as T-Mobile SDA Music - soon. While it isn't publicly announced on O2 Asia's PR page yet, CNETAsia revealed it already and since today it also appears on O2's product page."



I know some of you are excited about these player phones but I just don't get it. A phone should just do one thing. Make phone calls! :worried: Ok that is one good looking phone.

What are you talking about, Jerry? This whole site is dedicated to phones that are everything but just phones. PIMs Cameras, GPS displays, Game stations, audio recorders...on and on. Of course if it's not a good phone, it's just a small PPC :wink:

I'm not all that excited by this, but it makes sense to me to focus on a media player capability. Only drawback is the limited memory at this point. If you don't load many apps and docs on it leaving your extra memory for tunes, it beats the dickens out of one of those iPod chaos things. Don't see that adding a few hardware buttons makes it much better than my 5600 with the 1G miniSD and Pocket MP10.
