Default Motorola MPx220 Review By Howard Chui

http://www.howardchui.com/modules.php?name=Sections&ss=tps&op=viewarticle&artid=172

Want to know how the Motorola MPx220 fares in the hands of someone who gets to play with all the phones? Howard Chui has posted a ten page review of the Motorola MPx220. So head over to the site to check out how the Motorola MPx220 stacks up against the MPx200 and the other phones. I have posted the conclusions from his latest MPx220 review and the earlier review he did for the MPx200.

MPx220
"The MPx220 is a nice showcase of what Windows Mobile for Smartphone can do when married with a powerful device. Even running CPU intensive tasks like watching videos or listening to music does the MPx220 run smoothly. However the MPx220 isn't perfect. It's a little on the large side while it's screen is a little on the small side. Also it's camera is absolutely abysmal.Compared with Nokia's Series 60 Smartphone, the MPx220 seems best suited for web browsing while Series 60 excels at imaging and messaging while both seem to be about the same when it comes to phone related functions."

vs.

MPx200
"I really enjoyed using the MPx200. It runs very smoothly compared with other Smartphones and Internet Explorer works great. The MPx200 really is a nice glimpse of how good Smartphone can be when it works properly and is not hampered by slow performance. However be careful of it's poor RF performance."

I was quite relieved to read this statement "RF wise the MPx220 is about average (an improvement from the MPx200). It's very similar to the Motorola v600."

Thanks for the review. Is there is a limit in the number of contacts you can store as mentioned in other articles about the MPX 220?

The limit I believe has been specified more for performance reasons. So that the (photo) caller id app doesn't run slow. I don't think the limit is enforced by Microsoft or Windows Mobile Smartphone OS.

Not sure if any of the reviewer has tried storing more than 1000 names on the MPx220. I am sure the phone would allow you to do that. But their will be some performance degradation.
