More on the Chi Mei Smartphone

Shortly after we published our findings on the Chi Mei Smartphone, photos and some additional information were posted at Modaco. In that post, Paul confirms that this device is being manufactured by Chi Mei for Motorola.



Additionally, "sebset" noted in our forums that this device looks very much like the one appearing between October and November on Orange's 2003 roadmap. There's no official word on when we'll see this device, but the evidence clearly indicates that Orange will be carrying it in the 4th quarter of 2003. Now the big question is whether it will be running Smartphone 2002 or Smartphone 2003 which other carriers are planning to launch in Q4.

excellent - motorola is one of the primary suppliers to ATTWS. This bodes well for a release for their network sometime.
