Default HTC Tornado to be Picked Up by T-Mobile Germany & i-mate

http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=2589

"While T-Mobile Germany hasn't announced it yet (beside the earlier CeBIT announcement), the T-Mobile SDA II Smartphone appeared on the business customer page of T-Mobile Germany recently. However, all the information T-Mobile provides there doesn't seems to be the final one, from the device photo to the specifications. For instance T-Mobile isn't providing any information about the used operating system (and normally they do) or T-Mobile is describing the SDA II as a "black device" while the photo shows a silver one"

Earlier this week we showed you the new Qtek 8300/8310 devices. As expected, Qtek isn't the only one getting ready to sell the latest HTC hardware. Arne over at the::unwired has posted about the new T-Mobile SDA II, (Germany) and it looks like i-mate is going to be offering it as the SP5m - or at least Expansys UK seems to think so. I think it's safe to say that the latest HTC hardware is going to be as popular as the previous models.

I really like the HTC Tornado, but would like to find out what the cost will be when it launches. Mike what's your guess?

I would say it's going to be around the same price as the Typhoon was at launch. With contract, around $200 - without contract, around $400.

Not sure if these (imate SP5 and SDA II) are the same as the Qtek ones. The Qtek ones were Quad band (and had optional WiFi). And the ones announced by i-mate and T-Mobile are closer to the SPV C550. :-( C550 is the same as C500, it has tri-band but better QVGA screen.

since moving to the the Audiovox SMT5600, i'm a firm believer in the quality of product produced by HTC. i won't think twice about spending $400 dollars on an HTC device. heck, i'm liable to buy a couple of their devices over the next 6 months.

Considering that the Smartphone SP3i is still around $400 right now, i would think the Tornado will be quite pricey at launch. I really like the design of the T-Mobile devices. Why don't they offer them here? :-(

I am sure the price would come down once the WM 5.0 devices are available. In fact Arne's theunwired.net was selling the SP3i for around $250 or so. I think it is sold out on his site.
