Default windows messenger video chat

I just got my ADSL set up, and I can't initiate a viedo chat using Windows Messenger. Any hints as to what might be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :?:

Are you using a router with built in firewall? Odds are, you will have to open some ports for it to work...

No router, just the modem right now. I have a Hub/Router that I haven't yet hooked up though. Is it possible that my ISP is firewalling my connection to their server as a "service?" I guess I'll have to do a little investigating.

When you set up your PC for the connection (using your ISP's software), you probably set up some sort of software "firewall" on your PC...
