Funny you should ask. Can't remember where I read it (a fairly mainstream business rag B2.0 or Fast Company), but there was a bit in an article explaining how these tapes might actually start "showing" up in organized accidental releases. In other words, the author suggests that Hollywood elite might start releasing these tapes in staged publicity stunts. Personally, it seems like a bit of a stretch for those that have the spotlight now. However, it's not entirely inconceivable that a "star" that's falling off the charts would release some grainy, poorly lit, hard to see-but enough to make the world jump- tape, resulting in a second chance at fame.
