When will G-mail go gold?
Does anyone have any firm dates (or months, even) when Google's new G-Mail service will be open to the public?

I've heard of this before, my concern is that this company might not be around in the future. The point of a GB or so of e-mail is to maintain a long term record of it. I have a little more confidence that google will be around for the long term.

I could get up to 32gb (more if I had the cash) of email with my site but its not free
I think my acct is currently set up for 50MB which is comfortable, I don't even need to ask or pay when I need more (I purposefully set my acct. limit under the total amt. of disk space availible)
