Default Want Lower Cellphone Taxes? Just “Move” to Las Vegas

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000833045752/

"Leave it to Forbes to provide a guide to dodging local cellphone taxes (hey, they are the “Capitalist Tool,” right?). As Forbes’ Scott Woolley points out, strapped municipalities and states are adding taxes to your cellphone bills to the tune of up to $75 a year, and the taxes are based not on your physical location but your area code."

It is interesting that you can be taxed based on your area code and not where you actually live. Have you ever looked at the taxes (they call them fees to fool us) on your bill and the fancy names they give them?

This article is only partially incorrect. It says you need to get a Nevada numbers. In all reality all yo have to do is change your usage address to Nevada. You may need to change your billing address also, but in the age of e-billing it isn't a big deal. The biggest thing is changing your "usage" address to a low tax state. Mine is NJ (about 10%) instead of NYC (the highest tax from what I remember).
