Default video card?

How do I find out what size my video card is? I need to know for a game. I have a P3 500 Mhz and the card is a ati 3d rage pro (atir3) (it doesnt say what MB it is) How do I firgure this out?

If you have the ATI drivers installed, it might tell you exactly what card if you go into the Advanced Display Properties.

Having said that, what you said tells me enough -- if what you're trying to play is a 3D game, you'll probably need a new card. Despite the "3D" in the title, this was one of the early 3D accelerators -- it's weaker than an nVidia TNT or 3Dfx Voodoo 1.

its actually for WAr Craft 3...which requires a minimum 8MB 3D video card, mine aint good enough?

The ATI 3d Rage Pro (turbo) is 8mb. I know this for a fact because I had the exact same chip and all on my old HP Pavilion 4455 box.

Yes, but you're probably pushing it for WarCraft III -- 8MB isn't descriptive enough of what the game needs.

That said, try downloading the latest driver from ATI before going the new-card route. If you surf the site carefully, you should be able to look up the driver by the chipset name.

You could also use an app like HWiNFO32 to check your hardware...
