Er, actually, I'm not sure there's any easy way to say this but, well, um, that portion of humanity that doesn't live in North America (otherwise known somewhat insensitively as "most people") find the whole practice of appending Roman numerals to people's names when not in the context of emperors, kings, popes etc. to be a bit, well, odd.
(Rule of thumb: the numbers are useful for people who are referred to as part of a series without using surnames).

Never mind, back to the good bit:

I'd been wondering when someone would start using version numbers for people...the question is, what will constitute a major release as opposed to a minor revision?
And then there's service packs: there I think we're on firmer ground. A substantial update of an existing release, obviously.
For instance "Michael Jackson v1.0 SP 8".

I guess when he gets old enough and his ability to move around is restricted, he could just call himself Jon Blake Cusack Desktop and his son Jon Blake Cusack Mobile.
:twak:
Well it's a changing name...
Age 0 - 5 Jon Blake Cusack Lite
Age 5 - 22 Jon Blake Cusack Academic Edition
Age 22 -80 Jon Blake Cusack Premium Edition
Age 80+ Jon Blake Cusack Legacy Edition

Aha! That's where the minor revision numbers come in.

But of course, this system remains flawed, since you still have a virtual certainty of frequent duplication among the human population as a whole.

So what we really need is something like a guid or similar probably-unique value...

This is where .NET strong names are a Godsend obviously. What you need to do is type sn -k keyPair.snk before initiating conception.

Easy really.

Yeah, I heard something similar on the radio where it was asked if the kid was bad and was punished and then changed his behavior was he then called Jon Blake Cusack 2.01?

Either was he is definitely an improvement over his old man! 8)

Default How Old Are You?

If nothing else, it should make it easy for the kid to remember his age: After 1 year he'll be JBC2.1, after 2 years JBC2.2, etc...
