Er, actually, I'm not sure there's any easy way to say this but, well, um, that portion of humanity that doesn't live in North America (otherwise known somewhat insensitively as "most people") find the whole practice of appending Roman numerals to people's names when not in the context of emperors, kings, popes etc. to be a bit, well, odd.
(Rule of thumb: the numbers are useful for people who are referred to as part of a series without using surnames).
Never mind, back to the good bit:
I'd been wondering when someone would start using version numbers for people...the question is, what will constitute a major release as opposed to a minor revision?
And then there's service packs: there I think we're on firmer ground. A substantial update of an existing release, obviously.
For instance "Michael Jackson v1.0 SP 8".
