Default Travel Speakers for Your Pocket PC - They Are Inflatable

http://www.audiovideoman.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=detail&id=13616&product=6

If you often travel and find yourself in hotel rooms or even camping and want to listen to music or audio books with out the tinny sound of the Pocket PC's external speaker or being constrained by headphones, these speakers might be worth considering.

"Each set of speakers includes an amplifier, a battery back and a AC adapter. The Inflatable Speakers can be used in connection with various pieces of equipment, including most Personal CD Players, Personal stereos, MP3 players and Mini Discs and are PC and Mac compatible. Excellent for the office at home or on the move as their compact size when deflated, means carrying them in your luggage is not too bulky, perfect for meetings and business trips. Each speaker measures approximately 17.5cms in height, when inflated. Base measures 11cms x11cms." They are $49.

Default These *must* sound like crap?

Until somebody gets a pair of these beach-toy-looking things to review, I've got to believe they're going to sound like crap. Looking at the picture, it looks like a bunch of little cheap tweeters on a water-wing...

Doesn't Bose make a little cube-speaker set? I've seen those being used with laptops, and they sound pretty good, and aren't much bigger than one of these things collapsed. I don't know... maybe I'm wrong (as usual!)

Man! Them some goofy looking speakers!! Interesting choice of colors.

I'm pretty happy now with my Sony SRS T-77, but I'd be curious as to whether the makers were able to create some decent sound with this set. I wonder how sturdy these inflatable speakers things can be. To me, it looks like the same kind of abuse that would scratch paint on my hard-plastic portable speakers might possibly tear this thing.

It doesn't look like there are any wires running to those "tweeters". I wonder how they sound as well. I'm sure they sound as least as good as the Soundbug though...

Default Portable speaker

I bought the Soundbug http://www.soundbug.biz/index.asp?lang=en
for my laptop, the marketing message sounds very revolutionary and impressive, (which was reported on both Thoughts and Flashenable) but I am also very disappointed with the sound (both volume and quality).
Beware of these gigmoz....

get a sony srs-t55 or srs-t77 if you really want travel speakers...i have the srs-t77, and it's good enough for the size. You can probably find it for around $60 on ebay.

personally i don't see the appeal in inflating a speaker to use it...plus i can't believe that the sound that comes out of these could be any good.
