The speech impediment seems to be a BBC trademark. They always drop their voices for emphasis, rendering the sentence inaudible:

"The most important thing to remember is [hmmmmm]"

NPR is almost as bad, but not quite.

I have my doubts that Colly would be headed to redmond. But then of course you never can tell with Microsoft.
