I've heard that the black cdr's skip less. (because less light is reflected off the surface, or so I'm told). Has anyone used these? Are they any better? or is it all a load?

Yep, black CDrs have worked better for me. I can get them read in my Stereo CD player and my Pioneer 6-pack in my truck. The cheap silver, of pretty much any brand, doesn't work in my Pioneer.

Using my Plextor 8/4/32A, I've been burning Memorex Black CD-R 700mb / 80 minute, to good effect.

I've been able to scrape the top layer off of about any CD. Does anyone make a CDr where the top layer is un-damageable?
