Indestructible Sandisk CF Card?
"When Don Frazier setup his camera to capture the old Mississippi River bridge at Cape Girardeau being demolished, he had no idea his $15,000 camera would also be blown to bits. Surprisingly, his SanDisk 256MB CompactFlash card, with a few nicks and scratches survived the blast. The camera managed to capture the last millsecond of its life shown in the photo below, and one other camera on a tripod near by captured his own camera being ripped to pieces in mid-air." A $15K camera with a measely 256mb CF card? Broke the budget on the camera, I guess. :lol:
I'd like to hear the conversation with his insurance agent. "Yes, I did put the camera next to a bridge that was about to be blown up, but that's what insurance is for, right?"

What I want to know is what kind of camera is that second one is that survived the explosion??? Or was that one also destroyed?

Not only that, but a Sandisk?? I won't use one of those with my $1K camera!! I'm surprised it survived being put in the camera! :wink: |

I own some 20+ Sandisk cards of all types and sizes, some of which I've owned for years like my 32 and 64 mb CF card, and I've never, ever had a single problem with them.

Same here.
Got lots of sandisks. All of them are still working perfectly. I still use the older 16MBs/32MBs/64MBs to transfer pictures to digital printshops, the 128MBs/256MBs for wife's mpx200, 512MBs for my cameras and 1GBs for oggs/divxs on my axim. Not a single problem with them. Ever. |

I have 1 CF Sandisk card, 4 SD Sandisk card, 1 canon CF card and 1 non-descript SD card.
The Canon CF card is probably the slowest thing that I've ever used, it would be quicker to paint a picture than letting the camera write to it.
The non-descript SD card seems to corrupt data every now and then (its been relegated to storing mp3s now, because I can't trust any data on it) and every one of the SanDisk cards have never even had a hiccup (well one, once, but I think it was my own fault)

Rather extreme hyperbole, don't you think? Seriously, have you had real problems with a SanDisk card?
Remember there was a thread ( http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=30758) about sadistic CF testers a short time ago. The only way they could really damage a CF card was by smashing it with a sledgehammer or nailing it to a tree. |
