Default Hyper-Competitive e-commerce environment

Information technology may be a company's only hope of measuring changing business conditions and evaluating its options quickly enough to survive and thrive in the new hyper-competitive e-commerce environment. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

Moved to Off-Topic, where it belongs...

Why the question? Do you have a paper to write on the subject? :razzing:

As to an answer, I think the question as postulated is way too simplistic and one can't really answer without first thinking about the business market "a company" is in. And what do you mean by IT being the "only" way? One has to define IT and prove that it's the only way...

It's a question for discussion in a e-business/e-commerce course that I'm taking. I was just hoping to get some other people's ideas of what they think.
