Default HP Laptop-keep or sell?

With all the turmoil at HP the question is:

keep my 6 month old laptop or sell it?

If they spin off or sell their pc business, how would that effect warranty issues?

I can't imagine they would discontinue warrenties if a separation does happen.

Micron sold off their PC division a few years ago and everyone thought that was the end Micron computers. Well MPC Computer has evolved into what I believe is even a better company only because now they have a single focus, building good computers. Except for one work supplied Toshiba laptop (what a dog) I or no member of my family has ever owned another brand of computer (except for my Osbornes of course).

As an example, a few months back MPC replaced the motherboard and processor on a 3+ year old (out of warranty) PC and all I paid for was the cost to ship it to them.

So if HP does sell or spin off, it may just make things better.
