Default Google calls all PDAs "Palms!"

I often use :google: on my wireless Axim X5 for quick searches. The formatting works out alright, and an "Image Search" is decent.

NOW, if you visit www.google.com on your Pocket PC, you're directed to www.google.com/palm ! And you can't do an image search!

Why not call it the "mobile" version?

Google has always been our friend, but it looks like it's turned its back on the Pocket PC community...

Hmm, google.com/ie does now indeed give the same thing. But relax, David. Did you notice there's a "Full Search" link in the "palm" version? It doesn't give images, but you can navigate to images.google.com manually...

The fact that the URL contains palm is probably just a holder for any handheld device it sniffs.

If you don't like it, give them constructive feedback. They do read it.

hit "FULL GOOGLE" when the page comes up as "www.google.ca/palm" it is the same as before, nice and easy!

-Justin.

And why have they turned their backs on us? It is true, your device is in your PALM of you hand. I dont think they mean it for the PalmPilot only.

But there's no IMAGE SEARCH! The real, full, Google homepage was just fine on my PPC. I'd assume that it would be fine on a Palm, too.

List of grievances against Google:

--For removing the ability to do an Image Search. Probably 1/4 of my searches are Image Searches.

--For calling it the "Palm" version. How many wireless Palms are there? Honestly! How many people have a Palm VII, T|W or T|C ? If people want to browse the web, they go to a PC or PPC.

--For making me look like a whiner in front of the PPCT community.

Hey! It's the weekend, and I need something to complain about!

I use the palm version. I made a portal on my PPC and have have the google search on it use the google.com/palm. Why you ask? Because the palm one loads faster. No color images and stuff.

Well, as I stated before, I CAN get IMAGE searches on my PPC

Heres how I did it. You have to not get so panicky and manipulate it!

1. www.google.ca, redirects you to www.google.ca/palm

2. hit FULL GOOGLE

3. type what you want in the box (eg Car)

4. Hit enter

5. When search comes up, hit IMAGE tab on that page

6. Viola! boom up comes some car photos.
