It's the portability of the small Canons that is so attractive. While I love the Nikon 995, I had little hesitation buying the Canon S100 (the Nikon 990 was the alternative at the time) as I did not see myself having the larger camera on me when I needed it most. Believe me, you find that small size even more of an advantage when you own it and find that you have it available so much of the time.

Having said that, my next camera will need to be a digital SLR for pretty much the same reasons as Marlof has.......

I'd like a 35mm size digital drop-in for my current SLR. Best of both worlds...digital or film...one camera. Read once about such a beast, but will be darned if I've heard any more about it.
