Most of my extensions are even updated automatically (well, when I chose to install the new versions) through the Firefox updater thing.

The Update Firefox dialog is great, and it works well for extensions and what not, but I also get the same problem with the Add/Remove programs list. To avoid having multiple Firefox entries listed, you need to uninstall the previous version and install the new version. Otherwise, a straight reinstallation will create multiple entries. I have 4 Firefox and 3 Thunderbird entries listed in my Add/Remove programs list. Fortunately, if you uninstall the latest entry, the rest become null entries, but it still is a minor annoyance whichever way you look at it.
