FireFly Mobile - Now Available Across the US

"The Firefly mobile is a small, simple voice only device designed to be given to children by parents for use in an emergency or to allow the child to be contacted by loved ones. The Firefly is aimed at giving parents piece of mind while their children are out and about. The FireFly is now available from select stores and kiosks across the US, or directly from the FireFly website. Although this is focused at kids, I think it would make a great mobile phone for my mother. She always seems to be having problems working her current phone. Maybe we could change the Mom and Dad buttons to Son #1 and Son #2. :lol:

That's pretty cool. Can anyone find any info about the per minute charges or how long the minutes last before they expire?

And Mike are they going to have versions with two guys or two women on it for the gay & lesbian couples out there with kids :lol:

Is this something that's only going to be released in the US or do they have plans for europe aswell? Because I can see my little sister using on of these.

I think that is a great idea as well. My son is 5. Maybe next year when he is in first grade.
