For both sides of the file sharing debate - There is (imo) a thoughtful article by Tim O'Reilly of O'Reilly Publishing. I think he has some good points.
The RIAA: "These Palm Pilot thingies can be used to listen to our music! Also, the files are completely beamable! We should sue Microsoft and everyone that has one for our CD sales decline! :twisted: "
Ok, ok, so the RIAA really didn't say that (like I had to tell you :wink: ) but I'm sure that the ability to wirelessly send un-DRMed music files to another device will be an issue in the future.

A question for my readers: How many of you still get your email via peer-to-peer UUCP dialups or the old "free" Internet, and how many of you pay $19.95 a month or more to an ISP? How many of you watch "free" television over the airwaves, and how many of you pay $20-$60 a month for cable or satellite television?
I use a free ISP for my email (so I get Internet and email for free) and I don't have a cable or satellite hookup. In essence, I'm still using the "free" things that he assumed people were no longer using.
Yes, I get only 5 channels. I manage to survive. :lol:

You would be in the minority though. I still use a old freenet service for my email, but most people dont even know what that is.
