Based on the fact that you're a serious music collector who's obviously put a great deal of time and energy into making sure all your metadata is correct...no, I can't recommend the Zune to you at this time. The software is still massively dysfunctional - ask again in a few months when hopefully they've figured out how to fix the problems.

Sadly, I'd have to agree - the software is just too buggy to have been tested enough. In terms of who's getting burned, I disagree that it's just loyal users - newbies are buying the new Zunes, installing the software, and getting confused by the fact that their music collection looks nothing like it did before. That's just bad for the Zune all around...
