BlackJack II without Data Plan

Anyone use the Blackjack II without the data plan? I want to a device to converge my Dell PDA and my Cell phone. I don't really need internet on my device, I guess. Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on how this works. I use the calendar and contacts and want to sync with outlook. Does all that work OK?

My wife & Daughter both have 8525's without a data plan. You do not need data plan unless you want or need to access the internet.
