Default New update for Q available - improved battery life

Anyone else tried the new update for the Q?
http://www.qusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7076

I did it, and battery life does seem to be markedly improved. My motivation for installing it was that it also changes the behavior of the keypad when you are unlocking the phone to default to the number pad. No more "Alt+#" to enter your password!

Had you done the previous Q update? This is definitely a newer version from the last one? The Moto page gives no real info.

Cool - I'm happy to hear that Moto is still working on ways to improve the battery life of the Q.

My Q came with the first update, and this version is definitely different. The first update is 01.05.01, and this is 01.05.06. Apparently the fixes were developed for the Black Q, but they are releasing them for the original Q as well tomorrow.

There is some bluetooth improvement, particularly with com port management. You can now also adjust bluetooth heaset volume on the device with the scrollwheel.

I did the update yesterday and battery life today seems better than usual, but it's too early to tell. There are also reports of the device being a bit snappier, but nothing measured.

I did the update last night. The device does seem a bit more responsive. Too soon to tell about battery life. One of my biggest complaints seems to be addressed--it seems to keep up a little better when I type.

Did the update last night, went smoothly, no problems. Device may be a bit more responsive, too early to comment on battery life. Now I just need to get my hands on a black Q housing and I'll be all set.
