Default MPX220 Data cable - am I retarded?

I just got an MPX220 and connected the data cable to the phone.
The only problem is now I can't remove it. Am I retarded, or am I doing something wrong. There seems to be a big button on the front of the cable, possibly a release button. But it doesn't release. How are you supposed to remove the cable?

I just looked at my cable

The big button levers down two hooks, one on the top of each side.

Press down as close to the end of the button as you can and yank.

I concur, but when I push down my button the connector pops off the phone. Maybe try to push in a bit before pushing down the buttom. Might be too much pressure keeping the latches from moving.

Press the button and wiggle and jiggle the connector. Looks like the gripping pins got bent and that they are stuck.

PS: You are not retarded. This happened to my wife's MPx220 once.
