Default Bluetooth ActiveSync and Bluetooth Headset conflict

I’m having a problem with my Bluetooth ActiveSync since I bought my Bluetooth headset for my MPx 220.

Several months ago, with help of this forum, I successfully setup activesync for my MPx 220 over Bluetooth with one button access. I spent some time getting it right but it has worked flawlessly since. Whenever I am at the computer I press the autodial button, turn on activesync to continuously sync and don’t disconnect until I leave or shut down the computer. This has worked very well for me.

Got a Motorola Bluetooth headset, HS820, set it up and really like it. Then…

I activesync with my PC (and stay connected) and everything is fine until I use the headset. It works fine for a few seconds then activesync disconnects and the headset disconnects. Bluetooth is being turned OFF by itself on the phone.

I spent many hours figuring out what was happening creating LOTS of my own mistakes along the way digging myself deeper into a hole finally getting everything back to normal. (I had forgotten how many settings you need to have right to make it work)

Is there anyway to work around this so Bluetooth on the phone does not get turned off while connected via activesync and use the headset? If I do not turn off activesync before using the headset, Bluetooth gets turned off making the headset useless during the call. Yet to turn off activesync I have to shut down either the phone or the PC. I’d really like to leave activesync on all the time.

One solution I have installed is the app BTAutoSync SP which automatically syncs and then disconnects via BT but if I happen to get a call while this is syncing (each sync takes several minutes) my headset is useless and Bluetooth on the phone gets turned off.

Thanks

I have had problems like this also. If I have active sync connected my gps can't be found. I have to stop AS first. This same thing has also happened with my PPC. Maybe someone here knows why this happens.

When I paired my Bluetooth headset with my phone, I had loads of problems with ActiveSync over Bluetooth, but once I removed the ActiveSync pairing and recreated it, everything went fine. I don't know why this is. Maybe it has something to do with the last item paired with the phone. :?

AS and the GPS both use a serial profile. Not sure how many of these those devices support, but that could be the problem there.

OK so I leave the headset connected and remove and then recreate the activesync to the computer, right? You can use both activesync and the headset at the same time?

Just want to be sure before I try it because it seems to take me a long time to get the activesync working.

Yup, that's what I did. Now when you say leave the headset connected, it's not actually connected. Start with no Bluetooth devices connected to the phone. Then on the phone go into Bluetooth, and under advanced you can remove partnerships. Remove your desktop. Then go through the steps of creating a connection and pairing with the desktop. Once that's done, everything should be fine again. At least it was for me.
