T mobile DASH Volume strip

Hey everyone. First off, i really like the dash have discovered some great tweaks on this forum, so thank you all. My only hang up is the volume strip. Is it me, or does that thing wreak pure havoc in your life?! haa. Despite playing with all the parameters, I can never get it to just behave. What Id like to know is if there is a way to disable it and to control the system and/or call volume using some other buttons like the center pad or something else. Anyone have any input? Its important to me to have incall volume control and ability to mute the ringer on incoming calls but not ignore the call ( both of which could be controlled with the strip.) If anyone can offer some tips, id be very grateful. Thanks...!

I'm sure you can disable it, but I don't know of anyway to control those things with the joystick. I haven't seen any apps that offer that functionality. :?
