Stupid Dash Question
Ok...
As a guy who HAS to know everything, (one of the reasons I visit this site every day!) I have a question.
On the bottom of the Dash, right next to the USB connector there is a small square hole....
What it the world is that for!?!
Please help me in my quest for all the answers! LOL

Mic? Cover it and try talking.
That was a wild guess.

Good guess, but no. The mic is just under the 0 key - it's a small round hole. Killin-Time is talking about the hole on the bottom beside the sync connector. Having just got my dash last week, I wondered the same thing. I haven't looked around much to find an answer. But now I think I should. :?

I've seen strange holes on other models I've had. I've just assumed they were used during assembly of the device or something.

It looks as if something is to go into it. It's not just in the rubber cover for the sync connector but in the metal too. I just can't figure out for the life of me what that might be.

I always thought it was for the wired headset. If you look at the rubber flap, it has a picture of the headset next to the hole.

It's to connect a lanyard to the phone, take off the battery cover, you'll see a little hook there you can thread a lanyard through the bottom hole and attach it to the hook.

too cool!
I now see that the metal piece is a hook. I kept thinking that it was a contact of some sort.
thank you for the enlightenment.
