Default Problem - 2125 using preamp in TCPMP

I've installed the latest version of TCPMP on my Cingular 2125. The maximum volume wasn't as loud as I would like when playing MP3s using Media Player. I had always used BetaPlayer / TCPMP on my Axim X50v and knew it had a preamp and equalizer. The music sounded about the same when using TCPMP without the equalizer or preamp enabled, as it did when using Windows Media Player. I checked the preamp box and tried sliding the preamp setting up just a little, and the result is almost like the volume fluctuates. Its not a wild fluction, but it is there. It really ends up sounding worse than without the preamp or equalizer. Its not distorted, it just seems to fluctuate. I've tried it with the headphones and with the phone's built-in speaker and it still fluctuates. During my research, I noticed that another media player, Pocket Music Player, requires a CPU speed of 200 Mhz or above for the equalizer to function. I couldn't find any reference to this being the case with TCPMP but it made me wonder if this could be the problem. For some reason, TCPMP shows my CPU speed to be 173 Mhz. I know that others here are also using TCPMP on their 2125s and other HTC variations and wondered if anyone else had tried this or noticed this? I'm wondering if this is a software issue, or if it could it be a hardware defect with my phone?

Thanks

Well, It looks like it may be a software issue. I just installed the trial version of Pocket Player and there is no fluctuation in volume when using the preamp. The volume seems louder too. I really didn't even have to use the preamp. Wonder if TCPMP requires a faster CPU in order to use the equalizer and preamp? Its also strange that TCPMP shows a speed of 173 Mhz. I think my phone shows a speed of 195 Mhz when you go to "Settings - About". I don't think the TI processor varies the speed based on the requirements like the Intel XScale processor does in my Axim X50v, does it?
