Default Voice problems with 1055 image?

I've been getting really choppy voice quality on the Red-e since flashing to the 1055 image. Has anyone noticed anything similar?

Same here...but not sure if it started before 1055 or after...but the voice is definitely bad in certain areas. Like when the signal strength is below 2 bars..I was cribbing about the service...maybe its the ROM update..hmm

I've definitely ruled out carrier signal strength. I fell back to a Nokia 8390 and am not having any issues.

Time to ring Everlink.

Now that u have got me thinking...I guess I can see why I drop connection at one particular point on my route from home to work, every single time.

My Sony Ericsson T68i (known for the poor reception) or the earlier builds of RedE didnt have this problem. I started having this problem only since 3-4 weeks..and I thought it was the signal strength.

I will place a call to everlink also...but I have heard that they are not good at listening :-) Or worse..they dont even answer the call.

Any response from Everlink?

Well I sent in an email to Everlink. Few days ago. No response.

I had first called the Customer Support number on the everlink website. They gave me an 800 number. And I was supposed to speak to Dev Support. But ended up getting diverted to Sales Dept Voicemail. Got an email id of a person. Sent mail. But no response.

Wasnt Persistent ! Coz I have heard too many horror stories about Everlink Suport !

No, but I haven't tried contacting them yet. I got tied up preparing for a .NET seminar I was scheduled to deliver in Miami. I'm back now, so I'll see if I can free up an hour or so this week to look into it.

I'll keep you posted here.

Just got off the horn with Everlink support. Sorry it took so long ops: They said they haven't had any reports of voice quality issues with 1055. The person I spoke to said that he was using the 1055 image on his phone with no trouble. His advice was to hard reset and see what happens. If it doesn't improve after the reset and you believe that the GSM software was corrupted by the 1055 image, fill out an RMA on the everlink.com website.

Also, there is a 1058 image in the wild, but it isn't official yet. I check the ftp site every couple of days, so I'll post as soon as something hits.
