Trouble "sync"ing new Treo 700w with Active Sync 4.2

I am having trouble "sync"ing my Treo 700W. It has "sync"ed in the past but then will not work again. I have deleted the active sync version off the computer and downloaded it again. I have gotten it to work once after reinstalling but this time it is not working. I have downloaded the latest active sync version 4.2 and followed all the info I could find in trouble shooting.

When connected the active sync is constantly looking for my Treo. It never shuts down but keeps cycling. Looking to see if anyone can help in getting this to run consistently.

Try turning off your firewall and see if that makes a difference. If so, then you need to make sure your firewall knows that ActiveSync and connection manager are friendly applications.
