Default ROM updates and applications.

Does updating the ROM blow away the applications installed on the phone?

Yup.

It wipes the phone clean. It's like a hrad reset, but with a new OS after.

Thanks. I was worried about that. Hate having to recreate settings and such.

You are not alone. I still haven't updated the SP3i ROM. They released it last week. Primary reason, I don't have time to reinstall all the apps. And get the settings back to normal. And I don't trust backup software to do a good job between ROM updates.
